this picture has been my life for the past 2 months!!!!!

my orchestra, im actually the marketing director, is playing trittico botticellino by respighi this month and next month and i have been working on study guides for one set of concerts and slides for another....i could tell you stories about this piece...or you could go to www.bayatlanticsymphony.org and click on study guides and see for your self /images/smile.gif

i actually called the ufizzi galleria in florence inorder to get permission to use botticelli's images in our program!

its a beautiful picture, i especially love "summer" in the middle.

Wow..I checked out the site you listed. I always knew the general ideas
of this particular painting, but they provided some useful insight. I'd
love to see this piece performed by the symphony, but they aren't performing anywhere near where I am in Jersey. :( I'll keep an eye out, though. Thanks again.

You've been in my fucking bedroom!! It's on my calendar!! One of my all-time favourite paintings..I have a passionate weakness for Botticelli...although he can be a bit too perfectionist...I don't mind seeing bodies that have some wear & tear, but that's just me.

Yeah, that's the spaghetti sauce we had last night too. & tonight it's Eddie Spaghetti!

Venus Rising From the Sea is also a stunning painting by the Bott-boy! Gotta love that demure placement of her long hair...

I love you,
Ger

Why can't we go back to the days where it was bodies that looked like those of these women that were believed to be beautiful as opposed to the rail thin ones we want today???

grrrrrr.

Beautiful painting.
